Sai (釵, chāi) is challenging training that requires precision, agility, and graceful execution of your techniques to truly master. The sai is a unique staff weapon because of its double prongs and slim design. The shape and tips allow for quick and easy launching of the weapon. You turn the sai outward for mid to long range attacks and blocks, and inward to maintain tight, protective cover.
Although the sai is not an easily practical weapon to use in today’s world, practicing it will greatly improve your dexterity, strength, and coordination. Skills gained from Sai training can easily be applied to other activities that require fine-tuned motor skills, from everyday tasks to using other weapons.
