Module 1: Allies for Life — Cultivating a Spiritual Relationship With Plant Medicines for Transformation, Peace & Inner Strength
Discover the power of intention and prayer to reinvigorate your relationship with the sacred — and how to strengthen and empower your prayers to cultivate loving, supportive alliances with plant medicine spirits. You’ll also learn how to bring the spirit of ceremony into your daily life for ongoing transformation, peace, and inner strength.
This module is an introduction to “the territory” — including selecting the right medicine, set/setting, and distinguishing betweenceremonial and recreational use of plant medicine. You’ll develop a new relationship with prayer, stripping away what is not alive or doesn’t work, and focusing on intention.
Module 2: Taming the Ox — Training the Mind to Be a Wonderful Servant, Rather Than a Terrible Master for Ultimate Inward Freedom
This module combines Buddhist and yogic meditation practices with Western psychological techniques to cultivate an empowered, loving relationship with your mind. You’ll establish a somatically oriented mindfulness practice to regulate your nervous system, relax your body, and connect with yourself in a consistently grounded, balanced way.
Through the “Who are you being?” meditation, you’ll embody the wisdom aspects of yourself and use a journaling exercise to access and dialogue with the clear, wise parts of your being.
You’ll learn to surf the waves of your mind, rather than be knocked off by them — to track when your mind is going in a helpful or unhelpful direction, and get out of suffering journeys. You’ll also learn about the concept of a “bad trip” as an invitation to unpack and heal old wounds.
Module 3: Embracing “The Shadow” — Heal Trauma & Wisely Navigate Encounters With Dark Forces for Inner Peace & Embodied Safety
Let’s explore the themes of light and shadow, and learn how to meet the more challenging, uncomfortable aspects of self and other with calm, centered, wise, and loving presence. You’ll gain a variety of practices, visualizations, and tools to transform suffering into clarity, strength, compassion, wisdom, creativity, and light — drawing on Indigenous, Buddhist, and Western psychological tools and practices, and exploring their similarities, differences, and potential synergy.
You’ll learn how to create healthy spiritual boundaries and distinguish that which is yours to process and transform… from that which isn’t. You’ll also learn how to engage safely with uncomfortable emotions and energy through inquiry, tracing threads, accessing where they reside in your body, and feeling the energy and emotion without getting locked into the story.
Additionally, we’ll cover techniques to reduce and manage unnecessary fears and maintain a calm, centered, and loving presence in the face of whatever may arise. You’ll learn how to clear and seal energy and transform darkness into light, allowing you to embrace the shadow and wisely navigate encounters with darker expressions of creation.
Module 4: Love Is the Medicine — Cultivating the Healing Power of the Awakened Heart for True Intimacy With Community, Family & Yourself
This module explores love as the ultimate healer, with a focus on how psychedelic plant medicines facilitate transformative experiences of love. Beyond plant medicines, you’ll examine other practices that cultivate love, compassion, and forgiveness.
Traditional Buddhist, Peruvian, and Hawaiian heart-centered practices deepen our understanding and embodiment of love. We will also engage in ritual and prayer to commune with the loving, healing energies of rose medicine, recognizing that many plants offer potent healing properties beyond psychedelics.
Through the Bodhisattva vow, we commit to living in service to the wellbeing of all and to cultivating the power of love in all aspects of our lives. The Judaic concept of Tikkun Olam and the Path of the Bodhisattva illustrate the great joy and fulfillment of walking the path of the healer.
Module 5: Harvesting the Jewels — Integrating Your Transformations Into Meaningful, Lasting Life Changes for a More Fulfilled Life
We explore the eight types of plant medicine experiences that can occur and the integration pathways for each. These experiences can include embodying expanded states of consciousness, decoding and applying teachings from visions, healing past traumas, or feeling unsure about the experience. Regardless of where you are on your integration journey, Ali will provide tools and practices to support you.
The module includes a shamanic journey inspired by Robert Moss, which uses drumming to reintegrate a specific moment in the plant medicine experience. You may question long-held beliefs. Finally, you’ll continue refining intentions from the first module and nurturing that thread.
Module 6: Healing Racism, Oppression & Ancestral Trauma — Embodying Sacred Reciprocity Through Sacred Plant Medicine
Sacred plant medicine can support the healing of internalized, externalized, personal, and ancestral racism and oppression. Through the process of acknowledging and transforming conditioning and wounding, we can embody a humanity free from the suffering caused by these age-old issues.
We’ll explore the challenges and opportunities presented by the current cultural phenomenon of an international fascination with Indigenous plant medicine shamanism. While this meeting of cultures and spiritual practices offers great potential for transformation, healing, and awakening, it can also create harm without proper care, education, and appropriate tending. You’ll gain insight into how to approach this emerging medicine culture with consciousness, integrity, respect, and karmic cleanliness.
Module 7: Embodying Transcendent States — Navigating Integration Pitfalls & Embracing Humility for an Authentic & Fulfilling Experience of Life
This final module will cover the tools and practices needed to integrate and embody transcendent states of consciousness into daily life. Ali will draw from Buddhist teachings to understand what it means to be awakened and liberated, and how to walk the path of embodying these states.
Additionally, you’ll explore common pitfalls and challenges that can arise during the integration process, including spiritual narcissism, delusions of grandeur, and ego attachment to experiences.
Throughout the module, Ali will emphasize the importance of humility, authenticity, and sacred reciprocity in the process of embodying transcendent states.
By the end of the module, participants will have a deeper understanding of what it means to embody transcendent states of consciousness in daily life — with the tools and practices necessary to do so. They will also be equipped with a greater awareness of the potential pitfalls and challenges that can arise during the integration process, and how to approach these challenges with humility and authenticity.
