About the Actor
David Nowell, Ph.D., is a clinical neuropsychologist with extensive experience in diagnostic evaluation and conducts thousands of interviews annually. Dr. Nowell conducted risk evaluations in Emergency Department, as well as hospital and outpatient settings. The workshop gives attention to the unique clinical perspectives of emergency clinicians as well as the concerns and needs of residential staff and mental health providers. In addition to maintaining a private practice, Dr. Nowell provides consultation to patients in rehabilitation and psychiatric hospital settings. His research interests include cultural competency in the clinical interview and the impact of traumatic brain injury on social and vocational functioning.
Dr. Nowell earned his doctorate at the University of Alabama and completed an internship program in neuropsychology at Tulane University Medical Center.
