Description
In this unique 6-week course, Erik Fadiman walks us through a complete website makeover for a lucky non-profit organization. He’ll take us through the full design process from writing a creative brief with the client, performing an audit of the existing site, wireframing, design comps, and finally building out the new site.
This course tracks a real project from start to finish. Erik will create an initial time estimate for the redesign, and keep a running timesheet of the actual time spent.
About the Author
In the late 90s, Erik Fadiman was working as a chef in Portland Oregon when he began reading books about HTML because learning how to build web pages seemed like a good idea at the the time. That interest led to fascination and he decided he wanted to become a web designer. He managed to catch the last six months of the dot com boom, before ending up unemployed along with everyone else. He quickly learned that web design is hard and actually quit three times before finally learning enough tips and tricks to do it right. He is now a freelance interactive designer and he teaches web design at the Seattle Central Creative Academy. He is obsessed with the Internet, digital culture, and anything tech geek related. He spends most of his free time reading articles and tutorials online, trying to stay on the cutting edge of emerging technologies. His current interests include: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, AfterEffects, xHTML/CSS, WordPress, jQuery, HTML5, UI/UX/UCD, and designing for mobile devices. On the rare occasion that he can pull away from his computer, he can be found helping his wife in their organic garden or chasing his two small children.
Internet Marketing Course
Digital marketing is the component of marketing that utilizes internet and online based digital technologies such as desktop computers,
mobile phones and other digital media and platforms to promote products and services. Its development during the 1990s and 2000s,
changed the way brands and businesses use technology for marketing. As digital platforms became increasingly incorporated into marketing plans and everyday life,
and as people increasingly use digital devices instead of visiting physical shops, digital marketing campaigns have become prevalent,
employing combinations of search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), content marketing, influencer marketing, content automation,
campaign marketing, data-driven marketing, e-commerce marketing, social media marketing, social media optimization, e-mail direct marketing, display advertising,
e–books, and optical disks and games have become commonplace. Digital marketing extends to non-Internet channels that provide digital media, such as television,
mobile phones (SMS and MMS), callback, and on-hold mobile ring tones. The extension to non-Internet channels differentiates digital marketing from online marketing.
