Dr. Paul Swingle – Swingle Grand Rounds Recording October 2014 [WebRip – 1 MP4]
In this 1-hour session of the Swingle Grand Rounds, we deal with a ‘mixed bag’ of cases where the subjects are dealing with life-changing events.
The case details are:
• Case 1: A female client in her 40s/50s that suffered from foggy thinking ever since the loss of her sister in the last year. To complicate things, her sister’s death was by assassination, relating to her position as a public lawyer. Intrusive media coverage has been following the client ever since the event, along with fear of further actions by the assassin(s).
• Case 2: A 15 year-old male that engages in risky promiscuous behavior with other men. When he was younger, he was sexual molested by his camp counselor. This individual shows the classic markers of trauma related to being abused.
• Case 3: A 14 year old girl with attention issues. The neurotherapist suspects her to be a ‘traumatised artist’, although it is difficult to pinpoint a potential trauma moment aside from the separation of her parents when she was very young (but that she does not really remember). Her brother and father have also been assessed using the ClinicalQ and appear to have the same traumatised artist classification.
• Case 4: A 10 year old boy with hypervigilance and fretting issues, along with sleep issues due to him “shutting down” because of events in his family life. His mother was diagnosed with cancer, and this boy is extremely attached to the mother. At the same time, the mother does not have as much time for him due to also having to care for his younger twin siblings.
Discussions include tips regarding the cautious interpretations of low amplitude client profiles, especially in terms of perceived imbalances at F3/F4.
