Fabio Gurgel began his extensive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training at the age of 13, starting what would become a career that continues today of passion and dedication to the gentle art.

Training with Romero “Jacaré” Cavalcanti, he received his black belt from Jacaré at age 19, winning several titles in competitive Jiu-Jitsu on his way to 4th Dan as of today.

Known as one of the most technical fighters, Fabio from then on became the founder of the Alliance Team with master Romero Jacaré, seeding more than 40 academies around the world.

He still teaches at his academy in São Paulo, Brazil, while offering seminars around the world, as well as serving as President of the Professional Jiu-Jitsu League.
