Originally released in 1993 with Hemi-Sync® developed by The Monroe Institute, “Higher” became one the best selling metamusic® meditation albums of all time. It is also my personal favorite.

Firstly, Due to an equipment malfunction during the original recording sessions, parts of the arrangement disappeared. These have restored in this new recording. This version of “Higher” has also mastered with my own blend of meditation brainwave frequencies.

Secondly, The original recording is a timeless piece of music: it is a classic and it is presented here with my own blend of Theta binaural beats, monaural tones and isochronic pulses to enhance meditation.

Thirdly, As a bonus, I’ve included the demo mix recorded at a small studio in 1992. It has remastered and also includes some meditation frequencies. This is noisy and in parts a little distorted, but there remains something charming (or just very personally sentimental) in this arrangement. Keep in mind, though: there is a difference between “charming” and “good”.

Fourthly, Hemi-Sync® and metamusic® are registered trademarks of Interstate Industries, a.k.a. Monroe Products. These recordings do not contain Hemi-Sync®.

Then, J.S. Epperson has been creating healing music enhanced with binaural beats since 1993.

Lastly, After listening to the guided imagery “Meditation Made Simple”, Robert Monroe contacted Epperson about using the music for “Going Home”, a program developed by Robert Monroe, Dr. Elisebeth Kübler-Ross and Dr. Charles Tart. Epperson has since created ten popular Hemi-Sync® meta-Music® recordings for the Monroe Institute. Epperson received his Bachelor of Science from the University Of Southern California, Thornton School of Music and remains involved in many projects including the likes of The Monroe Institute as well as his own record label Mellowcore, which was launched in 2009. Epperson’s work also appears in television, film and video games.
