Activating Your Inner Champion Instead of Your Inner CriticThe Inner Critic judges you, demeans you, and tells you who you should be. It undermines your self-confidence and makes you feel bad about yourself. This book identifies seven types of Inner Critics, each of which judges you about something different. There is a quiz to help you understand which types of Critic are a problem for you, how they operate, and their underlying reasons for attacking you.
Most important, this book will help you develop an aspect of yourself that we call the Inner Champion, which supports and encourages you. It is a magic bullet for dealing with the negative impacts of your Inner Critics. There is a different type of Inner Champion for each of the seven Critics. This book will help you awaken your Inner Champion using guided meditations, and then practice activating it in your life whenever you need it.
This book is more than a book. It includes
* An online workbook
* An online quiz
* Recorded guided meditations
* An online community
Amazon Review:I’m not a stranger to the inner workings of the psyche, despite my left of field personal views in regard to the popular theories of psychotherapy. Personifying emotional states and aspects is just a bit too “”busy”” for me. But when I read the Self-Therapy book (my first intro to IFS), I could clearly comprehend the idea of emotional impacts that generate a standing psychological pattern in one’s behavior as a “”part””, a sub-personality in the mind that consistently usurps conscious choice and intent with emotional density that crushes the will. With that understanding, my reception to the Inner Critic and Inner Champion was a bit warmer to my critical thinking, and I decided to explore further.
When I completed the profile for the Inner Critic, I was impressed not only by its informative scope, but it helped me to see parts and aspects of myself I didn’t really know where there until I read the description. The profile helped to give shape to what had been vague and dispersed inside me, and that shape has been a benefit to my inner sense of self. The Inner Critic need not admonish in a “”voice””. For me it was a collection of feelings with hazy sense impressions that the profile helped give a voice, and that sensory defining has been immeasurable to my clarity.
