Description:
[WebRip – 2 MP4]Clinical Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT): Orthopedic Assessment Testing is a 2-day hands-on workshop that is part of the COMT Certification – Skillset Approach Program offered by Dr. Joe Muscolino. The goal of the COMT Skillset Approach Certification is to reinforce and hone essential COMT assessment and treatment skills, thereby strengthening your level of critical thinking and effectiveness of practice.
Orthopedic assessment testing is essential to clinical orthopedic manual therapy because it empowers the therapist/trainer to determine the underlying cause of the client’s condition, which is critical to being able to choose the most effective treatment approach. Orthopedic assessment tools include the three fundamental orthopedic assessment tests: active range of motion, passive range of motion, and manual resistance. They also include a myriad of specific orthopedic assessment tests developed for specific conditions. Examples include Phalen’s test, Prayer test, and Tinel’s sign for carpal tunnel syndrome; Adson’s, Eden’s and Wright’s tests for thoracic outlet syndrome, foraminal compression test, maximal foraminal compression test, and cervical distraction test for cervical spinal nerve impingement conditions (such as bulging or herniated discs), and other tests such as Thomas, Ober’s, and Finklestein’s tests, Straight Leg Raise, as well as many more.
During the workshop, we will practice and perfect most of the major orthopedic assessment tests that are essential for manual therapists. We will also explain how and why the tests are performed, critically reasoning through the underlying mechanism of each test so that the tests will be understood instead of having to memorize them.
This workshop will build mastery and confidence in your ability to employ orthopedic assessment tests, which will build your confidence in determining appropriate and effective treatment strategies for your clients. Coupling the mastery of orthopedic assessment with the mastery of treatment skills will lift your clinical orthopedic manual therapy practice to a new level!

FITNESS – HEALTH – MEDICAL Course
More information about Medical:
Medicine is the science and practice of establishing the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Medicine encompasses a variety of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness.
Contemporary medicine applies biomedical sciences, biomedical research, genetics, and medical technology to diagnose, treat, and prevent injury and disease,
typically through pharmaceuticals or surgery, but also through therapies as diverse as psychotherapy, external splints and traction, medical devices, biologics, and ionizing radiation, amongst others.
Medicine has been around for thousands of years, during most of which it was an art (an area of skill and knowledge) frequently having connections to the religious and philosophical beliefs of local culture.
For example, a medicine man would apply herbs and say prayers for healing, or an ancient philosopher and physician would apply bloodletting according to the theories of humorism.
In recent centuries, since the advent of modern science, most medicine has become a combination of art and science (both basic and applied, under the umbrella of medical science).
While stitching technique for sutures is an art learned through practice.
The knowledge of what happens at the cellular and molecular level in the tissues being stitched arises through science.
