Who is Mike Russell? Since the 1990s, my involvement in audio production has spanned, commencing with my career launch in British radio as a radio host. However, it promptly became evident that audio production was my genuine passion. I am the founder of the globally recognized audio production entity known as Music Radio Creative. My predominant occupation now centers around the education of audio production. I hold the distinction of being an Adobe Certified Professional and am frequently featured as a speaker at Adobe events worldwide. My services encompass corporate and institutional training, as well as personalized professional coaching.
Throughout my career, I have contributed to several radio enterprises, including talkSPORT, Capital, Heart, and Bauer. I possess an intimate understanding of expected audio standards, what proves effective, what doesn’t, how to salvage a show at the eleventh hour, and an array of practical production skills.
Since 2006, I have successfully transferred a substantial portion of my radio career expertise to benefit countless clients at Music Radio Creative. Collaborations have extended to national, regional, and local radio stations, online broadcasters, podcasters, and commercial brands, spanning a diverse array of projects from simple radio advertisements to stadium-sized productions.
I have observed that there exists no single platform where producers can gain hands-on, real-world experience. While many courses delve deeply into theory, they often fall short in providing practical application. My ambition was to rectify this by establishing a centralized hub where individuals like myself, engaged in the creation of radio advertisements and imaging, could access the essential knowledge required for their day-to-day tasks. This knowledge can significantly elevate production quality and workflow without necessitating enrollment in a lengthy three-year audio production degree program.
The Audio Production Course is a comprehensive educational resource, equipping you with the knowledge needed to craft exceptional audio content, encompassing commercials, podcast intros and outros, beatmixes, radio imaging, and more. The course incorporates a comprehensive library of sound effects and music, as well as my Adobe Audition Presets.
